Brasília – The sum of dollar inflow and outflow in Brazil remains positive so far this month. According to figures supplied by the Central Bank of Brazil, the surplus totalled US$ 1.255 billion up until the 21st. According to preliminary figures disclosed last week, the net dollar inflow into Brazil, i.e. not counting withdrawals, was higher: US$ 2.022 billion.
The figure was influenced by investment in bonds, remittances of profits and dividends to foreign countries and foreign direct investment, among other operations, which had a combined surplus of US$ 1.386 billion. Trade operations (export and import contracts), in turn, are running a deficit of US$ 131 million.
