São Paulo – The city of Petrolina, in the state of Pernambuco, is preparing its annual service, product and technology fair for agriculture in the semi-arid. The exhibition, named SemiáridoShow, should take place from October 5th to 8th, at Embrapa Technology Transfer, on kilometre 50 of highway BR 122. The organizers hope to receive over 20,000 farmers, businessmen and professionals in the sector.
There should be presentation of products at stands, demonstrations in the field of services and technology, as well as training, with seminars and courses. The event should occupy an area of 20 hectares. The objective is to take to producers in the semi-arid technologies that allow them to live more easily with the reality of the region. The fair is turned mainly to small farmers, who make up the profile of the Northeastern semiarid.
In the seminars and courses, themes to be covered should include dairy production in the semiarid, operation of agricultural machinery, domestic production of seeds, attractive systems for hen breeding, goat milk dairy products, construction of underground dams and rainwater collection, among others.
The promotion of the Embrapa fair, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, the Ministry of Agrarian Development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Bank of the Northeast of Brazil, the Bank of Brazil, Bradesco, the government of the state of Pernambuco and the government of the state of Bahia.
