São Paulo – The number of new businesses in Brazil was up 30.8% year-on-year in October to 307,443 – about 10,000 a day, as per a survey from credit bureau Serasa Experian. Year-to-date through October saw 2.6 million new businesses, up 23.1% from 2.5 million in all of 2018.
Numbers were up 26.6% for the service sector, 18.2% for industry and 13.1% for trade. By October, so-called individual micro-entrepreneurs made up 81.5% of total new businesses, with limited liability companies amounting to 7.2% and sole proprietorship companies at 5.4%.
