São Paulo – The number of rich Latin Americans has grown 9.7%, according to a report about wealth in the world, produced by Merrill Lynch and Capgemini. The growth of the number of rich people in Brazil was the tenth largest in the world, presenting growth of 11.3%. The research refers to the end of last year in comparison to the same period in 2004.
In Latin America, there were 350,000 multi-millionaires at the end of 2005, with total wealth of US$ 4.2 trillion. The region presents the greatest regional growth, only behind Africa and the Middle East, according to information published in the Brazilian press.
