São Paulo – OGX announced on Thursday (1) the discovery of hydrocarbons in the Aptian section (established between 125 million and 112 million years ago) of well OGX-8, in block BM-C-41, in shallow waters in Campos Basin. The company has 100% participation in the block.
According to a press release issued by the company, a column of hydrocarbons of approximately 65 meters with net pay (area in which oil may be recovered) of approximately 44 meters in carbonate reservoirs in the Aptian section.
OGX informed that it should continue drilling the Aptian layer and that well OGX-8, named Fuji, should be drilled up to 3.700 meters depth.
Well OGX-8 is located approximately 82 km off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro, at a water depth of approximately 125 meters.
