São Paulo – The oil barrel price has dropped anew this Friday (9th), to its lowest since April 2009. According to news agency Reuters, a barrel of Brent crude was selling for US$ 49.66 by closing time today; in the United States, the barrel closed at US$ 48.
Reasons for the decline include high output in the United States and the decision of the Organization of Oil Exporting Countries (Opec) to keep production at current levels.
The Brent crude price had dropped early in the week, but stabilized on Wednesday (7th) and Thursday (8th). This Friday, however, the commodity fell in line with the trend seen in the past six months.
