São Paulo – Oil production in Brazil averaged at 2.079 million barrels per day in October this year, up 3.4% from the same period last year, according to figures released this Tuesday (3rd) by the National Petroleum Agency (ANP, in the Portuguese acronym). The agency informed, however, that production was down 0.7% in October from September this year.
According to the ANP, natural gas output averaged at 72.9 million cubic metres per day last month, down 0.1% from October 2012 and down 6.8% from September 2013. Daily average oil and gas output stood at 2.537 million barrels of oil equivalent in October.
The ANP has also informed that in October, 308,400 barrels of oil and 10.1 million cubic metres of natural gas were produced on average each day at the pre-salt area, amounting to an average of 371,800 barrels of oil equivalent per day in the pre-salt area. Production in October was down 6.5% from September, according to the ANP, due to “operational issues” at rig Cidade de Angra dos Reis.
