São Paulo – Last Friday a technical cooperation agreement was signed to make possible the prospecting of business and opportunities for companies in Rio Grande do Sul in the sector of energy. The agreement was signed by the Petro/RS network, set up by enterprises, mainly small, that focus on the oil and gas sector, in partnership with the government of the state, the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae) and the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Fiergs).
To start developing the project for internationalisation, first of all the companies with potential for export will be identified. A study on the matter should be presented in October. There should also be a Buyer Project, an action through which possible importers should be brought for business roundtables with companies from Rio Grande do Sul that integrate the group.
There should be participation in international fairs. The first should be Hannover Fair, in Germany, in April. A group of 10 companies should participate in the exhibition, to take place between the 20th and 23rd, and is focussed on innovation. The idea is for companies to make use of the fair to seek business and modernize. A large part of the companies that are members of Petro/RS are in technology for the oil and gas production chain.
"The agreement should work as a great umbrella, to include specific areas and provide incentives to micro and small companies that are suppliers of goods and services," said Fiergs president Paulo Tigre. "Joint actions like this one, adding efforts and resources, create a favourable environment for the technological and economic development of the oil, natural gas and energy productive chain to develop fast in the state," said the Science and Technology secretary of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Artur Lorentz.
