São Paulo – Online B2Bs are bringing together Brazilians and African buyers in health services. The trade mission is hosted by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) and the Brazilian Medical Devices Manufacturers Association (Abimo) and runs from last Tuesday (26) to February 5. The event aims at fostering exports from the industries supported by Abimo. The mission would be hosted on site with a road show through Algeria and Morocco, the markets targeted by Brazilian Health Devices (BHD), an industry project developed by Abimo and Apex-Brazil aiming at fostering healthcare items and devices.
Due to the pandemic, the event had to be reconsidered, and the organizations chose to host the B2Bs online, which made it possible to include more countries, such as Egypt, South Africa, and Kenya. According to Apex, the B2Bs are set to bring together 31 Brazilian companies and 40 buyers from the five countries.
The mission is part of Brazilian Health Devices. In 2020, the program’s 134 companies exported over 110 products to 138 countries. “The online event allowed us to broaden the scope of African countries, thus bringing awareness to the continent on products manufactured in Brazil and showing the skill and quality of the Brazilian industry in the medical sector. If the B2Bs used to yield good results in person, we are sure that they will keep doing so online,” Abimo international marketing and projects manager Larissa Gomes was quoted as saying in a press release.
