Brasília – Treasury Direct bond sales reached R$ 372.2 million, up 64.8% from July, according to a statement issued this Friday (14th) by the Ministry of Finance. The number of registered investors reached 313,919 last month, up 21.2% from August 2011.
Treasury Direct sales are online bond sales. Sales amounting to R$ 5,000 or less accounted for 58.8% of total sales in August, indicating interest from small investors. The average value per operation in August was R$ 17,334.
The most sought-after bonds were IPCA-linked ones (NTN-B and NTN-B Principal), which accounted for 74.4% of sales. Prefixed bonds (LTN and NTN-F) were the second best-selling bonds, at 21.5% of total sales.
