Belo Horizonte – Over 100 businessmen from various industrial sectors in the state of Minas Gerais, among them garment manufacturing, mining, jewellery, shoe and medical equipment, participated in the seminar organized by the Federation of Industries of the State of Minas Gerais (Fiemg), during the official visit of the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Brazil.
The president of the Fiemg, Robson Braga de Andrade, who opened the meeting, pointed out that the visit of the ambassadors is already the result of the Summit of South American – Arab Countries, which took place in May, in Brazilian capital Brasília. According to him, the meeting marked the beginning of closer ties between the Arabs and South Americans.
“This is an opportunity to advance in the partnerships we already have and to create new business possibilities,” stated Andrade.
The Palestinian ambassador and Dean of the Council, Musa Amer Odeh, stated that the figures regarding bilateral trade between the Arab countries and the state of Minas Gerais may double in a short period of time. “Our intention is to see more and more products from Minas Gerais on the Arab market,” he pointed out.
