Tunis – The number of nights spent in hotels in Tunisia reached 2.72 million in this year’s Q1, up 21% over the same period of last year, according to the secretary general of the Tunisian Federation of Hotels (FTH) Rym Ben Fadhel Belajouza.
From this total, 1.655 million were booked by non-residents, while residents were responsible for 1.064 million. The information was published this Friday (20) by news outlet Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP).
However, the executive remarked that the total is 38% less than the numbers of 2010’s first three months, when Tunisian tourism had its best year. The forecast for the sector in 2018, however, is positive. This year’s result is expected to be the best of the last three years.
