Brasília – Overseas spending by Brazilians reached USD 1.325 billion in April, the Central Bank reported this Tuesday (23). The amount is up 23.14% from USD 1.076 billion in April 2016.
Spending in Brazil by non-local travelers amounted to USD 417 million, not much of a change from USD 475 million in April last year.
As a result, the international travel account ran a USD 908 million deficit last month. Year-to-date through April, the deficit was USD 3.536 billion.
