São Paulo – Palestinian poet and political scientist Tamim Al-Barghouti will attend the Paraty International Literary Festival (Flip), in Paraty, Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil, and will meet with the public in the state capital, next week. The Arab thinker is known as the "Poet of the Revolution", after a poem of his own was recited in Tahrir Square, Cairo, during the protests that ousted Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak.
At the Flip, Barghouti should discuss Literature and Revolution, along with Mamede Mustafa Jarouche, Professor of Arabic Literature at the University of São Paulo (USP) and translator of the Thousand and One Nights into Portuguese, on Sunday (07) at 3:00 pm. The debate is part of the main program of the fair and will be broadcast live on a big screen.
