Rio de Janeiro – Brazil’s state-run oil company Petrobras launched this Friday (22) a new phase in the process of sale of four refineries first announced last August. This is the “binding” phase, which will see prospective buyers will get an invitation letter.
As a result, interested parties will be able to do prior diligence to look into the risks involved, and to make binding bids to purchase the refineries.
Four units are on offer with a combined processing capacity of 879,000 boed, or 37% of total refining capacity in Brazil: Abreu e Lima (RNEST), in Pernambuco; Landulpho Alves (RLAM), in Bahia; Presidente Getúlio Vargas (Repar), in Paraná; and Alberto Pasqualini (Refap), in Rio Grande do Sul; plus their respective logistics assets.
