São Paulo – The Brazilian state-owned oil company Petrobras had an average oil and gas production of 218,117 oil equivalent per day in foreign countries in the month of June. The information was disclosed this Tuesday (15) by the company.
According to Petrobras, there was growth of 8.1% over the previous month. From total foreign production, 204,171 barrels came from companies controlled by Petrobras, and 13,946 barrels came from associated companies.
Coupled with the volume extracted from national oil fields, total production by Petrobras in June was a monthly record, having reached 2,421,155 barrels of oil equivalent, a result 3.3% greater than that of June 2007 and 2.3% greater than in May this year.
A monthly record high was also achieved in oil production at national fields in June, as volume totalled 1,867,336 barrels per day, 4.2% more than the average for 2007. Natural gas production by Petrobras in Brazil and abroad totalled 70,517,000 cubic metres per day, 12.1% more than recorded in the same month of 2007 and 8.9% more than in May 2008.
Natural gas production in Brazil totalled 53,372,000 cubic metres per day in June, growth of 24.1% compared with the same month last year and 7.7% more than in May this year, when output totalled 49,554,000 cubic metres a day.
