Rio de Janeiro – Oil and natural gas production by Petrobras in the pre-salt layer grew 1.8% in November from October 2015. The company reported an average output of 1.023 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOED) in November, while October output was 1.005 million BOED. Oil production alone averaged 820,000 barrels per day (BPD), up 1.3% from 809,000 BPD in October.
Average daily oil and gas production in Brazil and abroad dropped 1.8% in November. Petrobras reported 2.71 million BOED in November, down from 2.76 million BOED in October. The company ascribed the slowdown to halted production at some units due to an oil workers strike. Nonetheless, Petrobras said its production target remains at 2,125 BPD for this year.
