São Paulo – Petrobras posted the second highest profit among listed companies in the Americas (excluding Canada), second only to Exxon Mobil, according to information disclosed today (18) by consultancy company Economatica. The net profit of the Brazilian company was US$ 4.107 billion in the period from July to September, against US$ 4.73 billion by the North American competitor.
Among the Latin American companies, Petrobras was in the first place, followed by mining company Vale, also Brazilian, which had net profit of US$ 1.689 billion in the third quarter. In the ranking that includes companies from the United States, Vale was in the 22nd place.
Of the 10 most lucrative companies in Latin America, nine are Brazilian, according to Economatica.
