Rio de Janeiro – Petrobras announced this Thursday (25) that it will exercise its preferential rights for the areas of Sapinhoá, in the second pre-salt oil public auctions, and for the areas of Peroba and Alto de Cabo Frio Central, to be offered in the third public auctions of the exploration areas under the sharing regime of the pre-salt in the Santos Basin.
The decision was reported formally by the company to the National Council of Energy Policy (CNPE) and the auctions will be held this year still by the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). The state-owned company will take part as an operator with a mininum share of 30% in each area.
In a statement, the company said that the amount it will pay as a signing bonus, considering that all the results in the auctions confirm only the minimum participation in each block, is of BRL 810 million (USD 247.16 million).
