São Paulo – Brazilian petrochemical company Braskem, the leader in thermoplastic resins in Latin American, posted record exports in the first nine months of 2005. The company had revenues of US$ 739 million in the period, which represents an increase of 21% over the same months in 2004.
Braskem net revenues, in dollars, rose 27% in the first nine months of the year, reaching US$ 3.5 billion. In the Brazilian currency, reais, revenues in the period rose 6%, reaching R$ 8.8 billion, when compared to the same period last year.
Braskem is one of the three largest private industrial companies with Brazil capital. With 13 industrial plants distributed around Brazil, the company produces 5.8 million tonnes of thermoplastic resin and other petrochemical products per year.
