Rio de Janeiro – The National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuel Agency (ANP) has fined the North American Chevron once again for the oil leak in Frade Field, in Campos Basin, in November this year. The reason, according to ANP, is that the company did not take measures for conservation of the reservoirs.
The Agency had already fined Chevron three times since the leak: for non-compliancy with a plan for abandoning the well, for omitting information from the ANP on sending an edited video of the leak and for not having evaluated the impact of a toxic gas issued due to operations in Frade Field.
