São Paulo – Pope Leo XIV, the highest authority of the Catholic Church, met on Monday morning (29) with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, at the Apostolic Residence in Vatican City. The Prime Minister was also received by the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, accompanied by Monsignor Mirosław Stanisław Wachowski.
According to a news report published on the Vatican News website, during the talks at the Secretariat of State they discussed the strong bilateral relations, the desire to strengthen them, and Bahrain’s policy of promoting interreligious dialogue and peaceful coexistence among religions. The urgent need to end the war in the Middle East and the commitment to peace among nations were also topics of the meeting.
