São Paulo – Poultry exports from Brazil were up 6% in volume in February from February 2015, the Brazilian Animal Protein reported this Wednesday (02). A total of 320,300 were shipped abroad, comprising whole chickens, assorted cuts, salted chicken, processed chicken, and chicken-based sausage.
Export revenues in US dollars, however, dropped 11.5% to USD 458.6 million. Revenues in Brazilian real climbed 24.9% to BRL 1.8 billion. ABPA did not provide numbers regarding export destinations, but said in press material that sales performance to Asia and the Middle East was good.
In the first two months of this year, poultry export volume from Brazil was up 9.9% in volume to 637,100 tons shipped. Foreign exchange revenue in USD reached USD 909.7 million, down 10.2%, and BRL 3.6 billion, up 32.2%.
