São Paulo – At an auction held this Friday (15) by the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Aneel), winning bids were placed for 11 power line batches in 10 different states – Bahia, Ceará, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraíba, Paraná, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte and Tocantins. Total investment is expected to reach BRL 8.7 billion (USD 2.6 billion), with the addition of 17,868 direct jobs.
The auction concerns construction, operation and maintenance of 4,919 km worth of power lines and substations with 10,416 mega-volt-ampere (MVA) capacity.
