São Paulo – Extracted from ultra-deep water on the Brazilian coast, the pre-salt oil output surpassed, for the first time, the volume extracted from the post-salt portion in June, according to information made public this Monday (31) by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).
The pre-salt output had an average of 1,352,957 daily barrels last month, with post-salt production at 1,321,813 daily barrels. Brazil’s total oil output stood at 2,675 daily barrels in June, up 0.8% over May and up 4.5% over June of last year.
Brazil’s output of natural gas stood at 111 million daily cubic meters last month, up 6.1% over May and up 4.7% in comparison to June of 2016.
