São Paulo – The Brazilian Central Bank released its Economic Activity Index (IBC-Br) this Friday (15) in Brasília, with 0.52% economic contraction in November from October 2015. In November from a year ago, the economy shrank 6.14%, and in the 12 -month period through November it contracted 3.53%.
The IBC-Br is considered a “preliminary” Gross Domestic Product (GDP) result, since it portrays the rate of economic activity. Last year, the only month in which the IBC-Br showed an increase in activity was February, with a 0.53% increment over January.
