Brasilia – The president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, inaugurates today (19) an experimental biodiesel unit of Petrobras located in Guamaré, coastal city located in the northern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Norte. With daily production capacity of 3,000 litres of biodiesel, using vegetable oils as raw materials, the new plant is part of the Pólo de Guamaré, industrial complex built by Petrobras to process the oil and natural gas extracted from the sea fields of Ubarama and Agulha and from the land fields throughout the state.
