Brasília – Financial institutions surveyed by the Ministry of Finance are expecting the primary deficit by the Central Government (National Treasure, Social Security and Central Bank) to be at BRL 159.5 billion (USD 46.94 billion) at the end of the year against the BRL 159.8 billion (USD 47.03 billion) previously forecasted.
The estimate is part of the Prisma Fiscal (Fiscal Prism) survey conducted by the Secretariat of Economic Policy of the Ministry of Finance based on interviews with 30 financial institutions. The result was made public this Thursday (17). For 2017, the forecast went from BRL 145.3 billion (USD 42.76 billion) to BRL 144.7 billion (USD 42.59 billion).
