Rio de Janeiro – Industrial production in Brazil showed a negative result in November in relation to October in 14 of the 27 segments researched by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), which released this Wednesday (08) their Monthly Industrial Research. The study shows that the slowdown in the car industry, by 3.2%, is one of the strongest influences in the monthly retraction of 0.2%.
In November, the vehicle industry had a negative result for the second time in a row and, in only two months, accumulated a decrease by 6.6%. In August and September, the sector had an increase by 9.1%. Other segments which affected the monthly result in relation to October were machinery and equipments (-3%), publishing, printing, reproduction and recording (-5.3%), hospital, medicinal, optic and other equipment and instruments (-16.0%), extractive industries (-3.1%) and metal products (-3.4%). On the other hand, the pharmaceutical industry was the greatest responsible for holding back the downfall, with an increase by 9.6%.
