Brasília – The Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade launched this Wednesday (6) the program productivity program Brasil Mais Produtivo, with the goal of increasing the productivity of small and medium-sized companies. It calls for the companies to receive consulting services by the National Service for Industrial Apprenticeship (Senai) and to adopt waste-minimizing methods in the production process. The program will have investments of BRL 50 million (USD 13.72 million), with BRL 25 million (USD 6.86 million) coming from the Ministry and the other half from Senai.
The companies will gain access to the method of lean manufacturing to reduce the seven most common types of waste in the productive system: overproduction, waiting, transport, over processing, inventory, motion and defects. Until May, the program will be implemented in ten states and, until the end of the year, in all of them.
