São Paulo – Buyers from 16 countries are in Brazil this week to take part in an international promotion program for Brazilian fruits. Among the invited companies is one from Oman. The initiative is part of the Exporta Mais Brasil program, carried out by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) with partner institutions.
According to ApexBrasil, the program for potential buyers includes visits to fruit farms in the state of São Paulo and participation in B2B meetings during the Fruit Attraction fair, held from March 24 to 26 in the capital.
According to ApexBrasil, there are 17 companies from 16 countries. In addition to Oman, there are representatives from South Africa, Antigua and Barbuda, China, Slovakia, the United States, Honduras, India, Israel, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Romania, Russia, and Singapore. A total of 39 Brazilian companies, including five cooperatives, will take part in the business roundtables.
The project is organized by ApexBrasil in partnership with agriculture lobby CNA, Sebrae, which promotes the competitiveness of small businesses, and the Brazilian Association of Fruit Producers and Exporters (Abrafrutas).
The initiative aims to strengthen Brazil’s position as “one of the world’s leading suppliers in the segment,” ApexBrasil said. According to the agency, Brazil exported USD 1.45 billion in fruits last year, a record, with highlights including shipments of mango, melon, lime/lemon, and watermelon.
