Rio de Janeiro – The Brazilian Hotel Industry Association (ABIH) and the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae) launched today (17th) a project for providing training to lodgings and small hotel establishments in the country.
The objective is to prepare 1,280 establishments in 32 cities to cater to tourists during the FIFA World Cup 2014, which will be held in Brazil.
To the Sebrae’s Tourism Projects coordinator, Dival Schmidt Filho, it is important to make the lodgings competitive and, at the same time, improve public services.
"One of the major challenges is to increase the level of training of these hotel establishments, especially in services and operation. One concern regards efficient management of businesses. On the other hand, they must have competitive capacity."
In addition to supplying training to hotel establishments, the program aims to formalize services suppliers such as plumbers, electricians and gardeners.
