Rio de Janeiro – The Families’ Purchase Intentions index from Brazil’s National Federation of Trade (CNC) slid 0.5% in April from March this year. Year-on-year in April, however, the index was up 6.2%.
The 0.5% month-on-month drop was driven by consumer perceptions regarding their career prospects (down 2.4%) and the moment deemed adequate for purchasing durable goods (down 3.8%).
Five components of the Families’ Purchase Intentions improved in April from March: installment purchases (1%), purchase plans (0.6%), current job (0.4%), current level of consumption (0.4%) and current income (0.3%).
