São Paulo – The Wise Learners’ Voice program, of Qatar Foundation, opened its selection of students throughout the world, between ages 18 to 25, that are interested in participating in a global platform of debates and training in social entrepreneurship and education. Registrations can be made until March 31.
Those selected will take part in a series of online and on-site activities for a year, among them a meeting between November and December of this year in Doha, Qatar, and two program’s sessions, one from January 2 to 13, 2017, also in Doha, and another one from May 28 to June 10, 2016, in Spain. The Qatar Foundation covers all costs of the program, including airline tickets and lodging.
The proposal is to develop innovative solutions on education. The activities were planned as to offer participants the understanding of the main concepts and trends in education and to develop their leadership skills in the area. The program’s challenge is to make young people rethink education and to called them for an active social participation in their communities. Among the themes covered are special education, teaching methods and character building.
To participate, the student must be within the required age in December 2016, be fluent in English, including good writing skills, availability for the trips scheduled for the program’s activity and to follow the online activity throughout the year. An interest for the topics of education and social commitment, among others, is also part of the criteria.
To carry the project, the Qatar Foundation has the support of Banco Santander via Santander Universities Global Division. The foundation is a non-profit organization from Qatar that supports and develops programs in the sectors of education, science and research and community development.
