São Paulo – Qatar Meat Production, the only meat processing plant in Qatar, announced to the Brazilian embassy in Doha its plans to increase imports of animal protein from Brazil. The information, made public by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) on Tuesday (2), was passed on to the association’s president, Francisco Turra, by the the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
Currently, the company, which has a capacity to process over three thousand tons per year, imports Brazilian animal protein through intermediaries. The plan, according to ABPA, is to begin direct imports of products such as frozen poultry and turkey.
