São Paulo – Qualitá Group, a company with over 30 years of experience in ornamental natural rocks, is planning to break into the Arab market. Its Espírito Santo’s branch is focused on exporting natural rocks such as granites, marbles and quartzites and has become a member of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) earlier this year.
“We want to break into the Arab countries. We saw that these products are lacking there, and they import a lot. We believe this has a great potential as we work with exotic and super exotic materials. We want to take these rocks to the Arabs. We are a high value-added rocks boutique,” Qualitá Group marketing manager Paula Oliveira told ANBA.
The brand’s portfolio features over 30 natural rocks, and its annual production is 220,000 square meters of blocks of natural rocks. To reach this volume, Qualitá does everything from mining to processing the rock plates from its own deposits and quarries. Its quarries are scattered across Brazil, and the largest ones are in Bahia, Minas Gerais, and Paraná.
Since the pandemic started, the company even decreased its workload by half but soon resumed 100% of its operations. “The construction market is on the rise, as everyone is renovating. That is surely because, since everyone is at home, they end up renovating the space. We have seen a very large demand, particularly since June,” Oliveira said.
Qualitá expects that the excellent phase of the industry may translate into the company’s expansion into the Middle East. “We know there are many opportunities in the Arab countries. And we want to take the variety that Brazil can offer as a leading natural rock producer and exporter. We have to show that Brazil’s rock industry is very strong, with an abundance of diversity and quality,” the manager explained.
Besides investing in equipment to ensure quality and the high level of finishing of the pieces, the company also focus on sustainability. The plant reuses water, recycles solid waste, and most recently it has started operating with 70% of its own solar power.
Qualitá Group is an exhibitor at the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries, which the ABCC will host online from October 19 to 22. To participate in the event and visit the e-booth of Qualitá and other Brazilian and Arab exhibitors, you have to register in the platform. The event will also feature a series of panels.
