São Paulo – Brazilian companies interested in exhibiting at Food Africa, an international food trade show that will take place from December 5 to 7 in Cairo, Egypt, can register until September 30. Brazil will have a pavilion coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and supported by Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). According to information made public by the Ministry of Agriculture, food and beverage companies, exporters, trading firms, and industry associations and cooperatives can submit applications. According to the Ministry, registration does not guarantee participation.
The Ministries of Agriculture and Foreign Affairs will cover the costs of hiring the space, building the stand, hiring bilingual receptionists and putting together the catalog of the Brazil Pavilion. Each company selected will be responsible for its own personal expenses such as air tickets, visas, vaccinations, lodging and food, as well as shipping product samples.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Africa is the largest trade show in Africa and focus on food and agricultural industry. It gives access to both the Egyptian and the African market as a whole. Brazil is a food and beverage supplier to Africa, including Egypt. Year to date through August, Brazil exported some USD 1.7 billion in products to Egypt, and out of the top five exports, four were food items: maize, beef, sugar, and soybeans.
