Brasília – Registration is open to apply for the Certificate of Proficiency of Brazilian Portuguese for Foreigners (Celpe-Bras). Those interested can register until February 24 through the Celpe-Bras system. Exams will be administered on April 25 and 27 in facilities in Brazil and elsewhere.
To register, participants must inform the passport number or identification document valid in the country of registration and date of birth, and select the country, department, province and state, and choose the facility where they want to do the exam. Candidates must also inform their email address and phone number.
Fee
A fee of BRL 247.58 is charged for the exam administration in Brazil, and USD 115 for the administration facilities elsewhere. The value must be paid until February 27. The registration approval at the administrating facility is only given after the fee payment is confirmed.
Exam
Celpe-Bras is the certificate of proficiency in Portuguese for foreigners that seek to be admitted in undergraduate and graduate programs. It is also used as a validation of diplomas of foreign professional wishing to work in Brazil.
Exams are administered in venues like higher education institutions, diplomatic offices, consular missions, cultural centers and institutions, and other institutions interested in promoting and spreading the Portuguese language. The exam features a written and oral assessment.
