São Paulo – Registrations are open for the webinar on food supply in Brazil-Arab countries trade. The online conference to run next Wednesday (9) from 9 to 10:30 am (BRT) will be hold by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. Speakers will include Brazil’s minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Tereza Cristina, and the secretary-general at the Union of Arab Chambers, Khaled Hanafy. Registrations are open until the limited number of participants is reached.
Arab Chamber president Rubens Hannun will join the webinar as well as secretary-general Tamer Mansour, who will be the moderator. The webinar is intended to Brazilians interested in the topic of trade with the Arab world and the Arabs. It’ll feature simultaneous translation for both Portuguese and English. Hanafy will talk about Egypt, where he lives.
The webinar “Brazil and Arab Countries: Food supply chain, current perspectives and challenges” aims at addressing the challenges, solutions and good practices to ensure the food supply from Brazil to the Arab countries in the world’s current scenario of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. Brazil is a major food supplier to the Arab market. Due to the climate, the region is not self-sufficient in food production.
This webinar will be the first in a series of meetings that the Arab Chamber intends to host while there’s a need to maintain social isolation to keep the pandemic at bay. The goal is that these online events help connecting Brazilian and Arab businesspeople while face-to-face meetings, travels, B2Bs and other activities that fuel the trade relation are not possible.
The Arab Chamber expects to bring together businesspeople, its Arab and Brazilian members, Arab chambers of commerce, embassies, and representations of both Brazil and Arab governments, as well as other interested parties.
