São Paulo – Renault Brazil announced yesterday (8th) that it has surpassed the mark of 700,000 automobiles manufactured in the country. The company’s factory, in the city of São José dos Pinhais, state of Paraná, started operating in December 1998.
The number 700,000 vehicle to leave the assembly line was a red Sandero Stepway model, the sports version of the compact Sandero hatchback. The company also announced that it has produced more than 100,000 units of the Logan model, a compact sedan launched in mid-2007.
According to a press release issued by the company, the president of Renault Brazil, Jean-Michel Jalinier, stated that the figures attained are an “important indicator, showing that the brand is winning the trust of Brazilian consumers.”
Renault’s factory in Paraná, according to the release, has a production capacity for 200,000 vehicles per year. Presently, it makes 500 automobiles per day, including the Scénic, Mégane, Mégane Grand Tour, Logan and Sandero models.
