São Paulo – Revenues of Brazilian coffee sales totalled US$ 2.88 billion in the harvest year of 2005/2006, ending on the month of June. The value represented an increase of 11.7% in relation to the previous harvest year. The information was released yesterday (05) by the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (CeCafé).
The increase in revenues reflects an improvement in the average price of the 60-kilo bag, whose average was of US$ 118 in the last crop, an increase in 27% in relation to the previous period. Volumes shipped, in turn, totalled 24.5 million bags, a reduction of 12.4%.
