Rio de Janeiro – The Brazilian services sector increased by 8.6% in November 2013 in relation to the same month of the previous year, discounting inflation. The indicator shows that, during the month, the sector’s increase was a little slower than in October (8.8%) and September (9.7%) last year. The information is from the Services Monthly Research, released this Wednesday (22) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
According to the study, the increase for the year and for the last 12 months reached 8.5%, showing growth in all items that form the index. Revenues from services rendered to families increased by 10.5%; communication and information services, by 7%; professional and administrative services by 7.8%; and transportation, auxiliary transportation services and mail increased by 10.2%. The study does not count on a seasonality adjustment tool, therefore it does allow for monthly performance comparisons in the sector, which would require a historic series.
