São Paulo – This Thursday (9th), at the Port of Rio Grande, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, cattle started being shipped to Turkey and Lebanon. According to information disclosed by the press office of the Port of Rio Grande, 2,500 heads of cattle should be shipped to Lebanon and 5,300 to Turkey. The animals will be transported in the Panamanian cattle ship Kenoz.
Over 100 people are working in the shipping operation. The cattle is confined in an area owned by the Angus Trading exporting company, which is in charge of the operation, 20- kilometres away from the port. The first animals shipped are those headed for Lebanon, aged from 6 to 24 months, and of European breeds. The bovines that will be shipped to Turkey are aged from 6 to 36 months. The operation should end on Friday (10th).
