São Paulo – Sales of new vehicles in Brazil climbed 23.14% in January of this year in comparison to the same month of 2017. According to data from the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distributors (Fenabrave), released this Monday (5), 181,200 units were registered in 2018’s first month, against 147,200 last year. In comparison to December of last year, however, there was a decline of 14.75%.
The increase in sales reflects, according to Fenabrave’s president, Alarico Assumpção, an improvement of the economic scenario over the beginning of 2017. “Renewed expectations due to an improvement of economic indexes reflects, directly, in consumer confidence and favors the vehicles market,” he said.
For 2018, the federation’s expectations points to a gradual improvement, with the sector resuming the growth rhythm of the pre-crisis period.
