São Paulo – Santander Brazil ranked 11th in a list of the world’s most solid financial institutions published by the Bloomberg Markets magazine. The study considers factors such as level of equity, efficiency and coverage indexes.
Santander Brazil has Arab capital. Qatar Holding, the Qatari sovereign fund, acquired a 5% stake in the company in October last year, and Aabar Investments, an investment fund based in Abu Dhabi, in the Emirates, purchased US$ 328 million in shares of the bank in 2009.
In the list, the financial institution named the most solid in the world is Oversea Singapore, followd by Svenska Sweden, National Bank Canada, Canadian Imperial Canada and DBS Group Singapore.
