São Paulo – Industrial activity in the state of São Paulo grew by 2% in February. The rate was announced this Tuesday (29th) by the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp) and takes seasonal variations into account. If those are not considered, the rate of growth was 4.2%.
In the comparison between February 2010 and February 2011, industrial activity increased by 7.1%. Industrial activity in São Paulo has grown by 5.9% in the first two months this year and by 7.9% in the last 12 months.
The level of use of installed capacity has also increased from January to February. The industry of the state of São Paulo used 83.8% of its capacity in January. In the following month, the rate was 84.1% – taking into account seasonal variations in production: times at which industrial activity is stronger as a result of holidays, among other factors.
