São Paulo – Consultancy firm Economatica informed today (29th) that this month, the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) had its highest daily average trading volume ever. According to a statement by the firm’s director, Einar Rivero, as of yesterday, the average daily volume in October was US$ 3.985 billion.
The previous record had been US$ 3.732 billion, recorded in May 2008, according to Economatica. The lowest ever daily average over the course of one month was US$ 393 million, in May 2005.
In 2010, July had the lowest average, at US$ 2.704 billion. Rivero said, however, that the market has grown continuously in the three months that followed, i.e. until now.
