São Paulo – São Paulo was Brazil’s leading exporting state in November, as per data released by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply. Export revenues reached US$ 1.2 billion. The second leading exporting state was Paraná, at US$ 820 million, followed by Mato Grosso, at US$ 755 million, Minas Gerais, at US$ 668 million, and Rio Grande do Sul, at US$ 577 million.
Year-to-date through November, São Paulo was also the top exporter, at US$ 16.6 billion. Sugar and ethanol accounted for the lion’s share of sales, grossing US$ 6.23 billion. Meats came in second at US$ 2.4 billion, particularly beef.
