São Paulo – Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), the health authority in Saudi Arabia, have approved the registration of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, according to the website of Saudi Arabian newspaper Arab News. The decision was made based on the data provided by the company in late November.
Some days ago, the Arab News website reported that the first batch of coronavirus vaccines is set to arrive in Saudi Arabia and would be available for distribution in weeks. The material is set to arrive in special distribution fridges designed to keep the vaccines at -80 C (a requirement for the product). It will arrive packed with dry ice at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport.
As per the latest available numbers from the World Health Organization (WHO), Saudi Arabia had 359,274 cases and 6,002 deaths, according to the WHO. Arab News reported that there is a decrease in cases across all regions of the Arab country.
