São Paulo – King Faisal International Foundation announced last month the winners of an award that goes by the institution’s name and recognises the work of people who develop knowledge for the world. In the 2012 edition, two Saudis, two Egyptians and three North Americans were announced.
The Saudi Sulaiman bin Abd Al-Aziz Al-Rajhi was awarded in category " Service to Islam", the also Saudi Adnan bin Mohammed Al-Wazzan won in "Islamic Studies", the Egyptian Ali Hilmi Ahmed Mousa and Nabil Ali Mohammed won in the category "Arabic Language and Literature", and the North American Richard L. Berkowitz and James Bruce Bussel won in the "Medicine" category, whereas the also North American Alexander Varshavsky won in "Science".
"King Faisal International Foundation aims to serve humanity wherever it may be around the world,” said prince Khaled Al-Faisal, director general of King Faisal Foundation, at the ceremony announcing the winners in January.
